GG

Great Grandma and Grandpa Budreck

We went down to Portland last weekend to see my grandparents who were visiting from Arizona. We haven't figured out a good name for Ashley to call her Great Grandparents, so we called them both GG all weekend. It was a very fun, very relaxing weekend, just what we needed. We left Thursday night and spent Friday just with GG. We played tennis, went to the playground, read books and slept. Friday night we went over to our friends house for pizza. They're expecting their third any day now, which is weird because the last time we saw them they had announced she was pregnant. Time goes by way too fast!!! We're so excited for them and can't wait to meet the new arrival. Saturday the boys went golfing, mom and I went to Babies R'Us, worked on our puzzle and had an awesome BBQ dinner. Sunday we went over to Bonnie and Al's for dinner and left for Seattle around 4pm. Sounds busy once I write it down, but really it wasn't, it was perfect!

These guys are still so in love after so many years, it's really inspiring.

GG got me interested in playing tennis and I guess she passed it on to Ashley too.

GG reading a story to Ashley

Uncle Dan

Of course this is all I captured once I got my camera out, but it's still cute. My Dad was giving Ashley kisses through the window and she was giving kisses back.

Waiting patiently for the BBQ to be done.

All lined up

Cute Outfit

A co-worker go this outfit for Ashley and it looks absolutely adorable on her. This is how we take pictures now and Ashley thinks it's really funny. I hold her in place until I let go and run backwards as I'm taking the picture of her running towards me. She likes to look at the picture after I take it and she just can't wait, giggles the whole time.

19 Month Stats

Ashley had her checkup yesterday, it was her 18 month, just a little late. She's 33 inches (75%) and 23 lb 15oz (40%). She really hit a growth spurt in the last few months and her little chubby legs are starting to go away :( I say starting to go away because they're still there, but definitely not what she had at 6 months! She got her first round of MMR, which goes in the arm and she got two in each thigh. She knew what was coming and was not a happy camper. After the the torment was over she had a really good night, they didn't seem to effect her at all, not even a little Tylenol to take the edge off. Our friend Joana's birthday was yesterday so we had a BBQ over at Danielle and Hani's to celebrate. Miss Ashley was a sport, she didn't get to bed until almost 10pm and she was quite the little entertainer at dinner showing off all her words and tricks. I've been having major allergy attacks lately and sneezing a lot! Little missy starting saying "bless you" in her sweet little voice and that makes everything better. She thinks it's really funny when she sneezes too! I hope she doesn't get my allergies! It has been very hot here and the Timm household has not been sleeping very well. Hopefully it will cool down this weekend and we can catch up on some z's!!!

San Diego!

Memorial Day weekend we went down to San Diego for a conference Brian wanted to attend. By the time we got there and planned out the weekend he only ended up going one day, so we had a very nice vacation as a family. We flew out on Friday around 11am, perfect time for a nap, no stress in the morning getting to the airport and enough time to enjoy the afternoon in San Diego when we got there. Well, all that would have worked out perfect if we didn't have to sit on the tar mack for 2 hours before our plane could take off! There was an overflow in the sink that no one noticed until it created a huge puddle. It took them that long to make sure there was no damage underneath. What makes me really upset is they found this while about 15 people had boarded, yet they still continued boarding. It was a packed flight with no room to move and very warm, it would have been much better if we could have been in the air conditioned airport all that time! Luckily we had the back two isle seats, so we gave Ashley a seat to play on and that worked out pretty well. It was another 2 1/2 hours to San Diego after that though and by the end of the flight she was tired, hungry and cranky. We didn't get into our hotel until about 4:30pm and she hadn't had a nap. By that time we just gave her dinner and put her to bed. My dad had been down there on business so he picked us up from the airport and brought us to the hotel. I couldn't imagine having to find transportation after a day like that, it was so nice to have him there to pick us up and help with all the baggage! My mom flew in Saturday so we hung out at the pool and found a beautiful park on the beach to BBQ at. That was a lot of fun, but really cold. I forgot the sun sets so early down there! Sunday we switched to a two bedroom condo with my parents. This worked out so well because we had my aunt and my cousins family over to visit and we had the family room area to hang out. It was great to see them. We went to the pool and back to the condo for pizza. We spent a lot of time at the pool and walking along the beach. We did go for a long bike ride one of the days and that was really fun. I absolutely love San Diego and can't wait to go back. We didn't get to the zoo or Balboa Park, so I definitely want to go back! It was so fun to be there with my parents and they helped out with Ashley so much and even let mom and dad have a few nights out! Thanks!

She loved watching the airplanes and everything else going on on the runway.

She's just making sure she fits as a carry on.

Ashley was up at 5:30am the day we left from San Diego, I guess she wanted to make the most of her last day there! Well, waking up that early made for a really tired little girl later on. This is after we've landed and were taxiing to the terminal. It took her seconds to pass out and I felt so bad waking her up when we had to leave the plane, I don't know why she couldn't just have fallen asleep on the flight. I guess there was too much going on.

Ashley checkin' out the scene.

This is the park we BBQ'd at Saturday night. It got a little cold, but what a view!

Ashley was so interested in this bird in the lobby. All the sudden it would scream out "hello" really loud and she would turn her head really quick like what the heck was that!

Bike Ride

This was one of the highlights of the trip for me. We went on a long bike ride along the water for about 2 hours. The bikes we used were the old fashioned one speed bikes with back pedal brakes and baskets on the front. They were so comfortable to ride and Ashley loved being in the trailer we rented for her. She had her sippy cup and snacks and was content looking out at the scenery. If those things didn't take up so much room and were so expensive we'd buy one in a heartbeat. Although Brian had to work a little harder towing Ashley, it was a lot of fun.
