Jury Duty

I was called for Jury Duty the week of March 19th. This was the first time I had been called for it, so I was a little excited. Well the week ended up being a lot less than exciting. The night before I had to call and see if my number had been listed on the recording. Monday didn't have any cases scheduled, Tuesday my number wasn't called, but Wednesday it was (we were told it was a busy day, I think 11 cases scheduled)! I got to the courthouse in Oregon City and sat through the 2 hour orientation only for the lady to excuse everyone of us because they didn't need any jurors. I ended up going in to work so I didn't have to use PTO. Then Thursday they called numbers higher than mine and Friday the courts were closed. I guess the good part is I don't have to worry about it for another two years! I've done my duty and now I know what to expect!

Panda

Isaiah is now officially in the Panda room at school. He's been transitioning for a couple weeks and has done great. He loves it and is very proud that he's a Panda now (he'll tell you so!) Best news is he's fully potty trained!!!! Only one diaper at night. They actually sent home his remaining diapers from school yesterday. He's even been taking 2 1/2-3 hour naps at home (the Panda's wear him out) and wakes up dry. We're so proud of him (especially Ashley) and so excited that we won't be buying diapers anymore! He loves picking out his undies every day like Ashley does and feels like such a big boy!

Busytown

Brian took Ashley to see Busy Town at the Children's Theatre. It was a special date just the two of them. He had been showing her clips online of the play and got a few Busy Town books at the library, so she was really excited to go. They had a great time and thought the play was excellent.

Downstairs bathroom

I painted the downstairs bathroom and love, love, love the way it turned out.

Leprechaun Trap

Working hard on her trap. We had lots of good ideas this year, we thought for sure we would get him.

Ashley had Papa help make her a key so the Leprechaun could get in, she was really worried that he wouldn't be able to without one.

Ashley picked out the purple "ladder" so Mr. leprechaun could climb up and slide down the back of the trap. She wanted them to stay as long as possible to increase her chances of the trap working. Each compartment of the "ladder" had a shiny leprechaun inside. She figured if the real leprechaun saw other Leprechaun's in there he would be attracted to it. Then she left a "broken" shoe with a green cup filled with green marshmallows, figuring he would need a snack after he played. The "broken" shoe was a trick because it only appeared broken to get him in there and want to fix it. Then she carefully picked the chair as a good place to have the trap, not on the ground where Brody could get to it, and not too high that he wouldn't be able to climb up.

You can see how he got out, but he left the kids Lucky Charms, Shamrock straws for their homemade green milk made by Mr. Leprechaun himself (he even left it in tiny cups for the kids since he couldn't carry big one's with him!), and a bag of chocolate gold coins for their effort in trying to catch him. We'll try to catch that tricky guy again next year and maybe we'll get to his pot of gold!

This is a picture of Dan and I around the age of Ashley and Isaiah, maybe a little bit older. When I saw the kids watching TV like this, I remembered that Mom and Dad had a picture very similar. I wish I would have gotten them to look at me, but then again I probably wouldn't have gotten the picture!

Sledding!

Brian had Monday off, so he decided to take us sledding. We started off at Timberline, which was really windy so we only played in the snow for a little while and then went in for a yummy cup of hot chocolate to warm up! After walking around the lodge we headed to snowbunny for some sledding. It was snowing like crazy, but no wind. On the way back we stopped in ZigZag for some lunch and it started snowing there. That night we got a light dusting at home, but nothing that stuck for too long. I guess when we can drive an hour to play in snow, it's not so bad when we don't have any where we live.

We helped Papa make his FIRST snowman!!

Joana's shower

8 more weeks to go and Joana will have a little girl named Ellie Marie! We are still in disbelief because we thought for sure they would only have boys. Her shower was last Saturday, so Ashley and I went up for a girls weekend while Brian stayed home with Isaiah. It was the first trip I've taken with just Ashley so it was a special one. She always gets so excited when we go up there, but to take a trip just her and I was really fun!





Joana's friend Laura and her mom put on the shower at Laura's mom's house. They did a great job!

Big Boy Underpants

Isaiah is doing awesome with potty training, we are so proud of him! I've heard from so many people to not even try before he's 3 because "boys just aren't ready until then." He's sat on the potty before, but always wanted to get off as soon as he got on, so we really haven't pushed it too much. Well one night a few weeks ago Brian was successful in getting him to go and now goes whenever we sit him on the potty. Daycare has been working with him a lot too which helps a ton. He'll be moving into the Panda room in a few weeks where they really focus on it, lining up the kids to go potty every hour. He should really get the hang of it then! Last weekend when Ashley and I were in Seattle Brian bought "Thomas the Train" underpants, which he was super excited about. I'm hoping this weekend he'll do really well and we can be rid of diapers for most of the day. Naps and nighttime will take awhile.
