The snow storm that hit Portland at the beginning of the month made for a really fun weekend. A few plans got canceled, such as skiing on Friday with Grandpa since daycare was closed, and skiing on Sunday with Papa since the roads were a sheet of ice, but those can be rescheduled. We had been waiting for snow all year and we took advantage! Santa brought the kids new boots and sleds just in time, because we used them all weekend and we didn't have to go far. The hill the we live on became a great place to sled and since all the neighbors were out, we had eyes to watch for cars. Brian even got out his old skies and pulled all three of us down the hill. The kids couldn't get enough and ended up sledding in the backyard while we warmed up and made dinner. Brody sure got his excercise that weekend too. He was exhausted from chasing us up and down the hill, although he didn't really like the snowballs that formed between his toes!

| Sheet of ice Brian picked up after the freezing rain on Sunday. It was amazing to listen to the ice fall from the trees onto the frozen ground. |
