Visit with Les and Becky

While we were down for a wedding this past weekend in Coos bay we made sure to pay a visit to Les and Becky. We last saw them 5 years ago before our wedding when they taught us how to swing dance for our wedding. Brian is very good friends with Les and Becky and has known them since high school. They are so sweet and we love visiting with them and seeing all Les' projects he's done around the house. One of which is a doll house he built for Becky's collection of dolls. They actually call it the cottage since her friends though he was building a small toy doll house. This is life size and a place she can have tea and show off to her friends. It's was very impressive!

These two dolls caught Ashley's eyes as soon as we opened the door.

Sheena and Skyler's Wedding

Thursday night we took off on our drive to Coos bay for Sheena and Skyler's wedding. It worked out so well since it had been 5 years since we've been down there plus it was Becki's birthday the same weekend. We drove to Portland Thursday night and stayed with my parents. Then Saturday morning we drove the rest of the way to Coos Bay and checked into our hotel. It had a pool, so we went swimming and met up with Becki and Dallas at their house for dinner Friday night. Saturday was the wedding at Sheena's parents house out near Coquille. The weather was perfect and their property, where they had the wedding and reception, was amazing. Her parents bought the property and built the house with the trees that were on the property. That's how much work went into this house and it's beautiful. It was a very nice wedding and great to see everyone. You can see Ashley had fun out on the dance floor too!

This is our friends little boy, Quinn. Him and Ashley look like they could be brother and sister.

Happy 34th Becki!

Saturday morning we went over to Aunt Becki and Uncle Dallas' to say Happy Birthday to Aunt Becki. We walked to coffee and then played at the park. It was short, but we had a great time.

Girls Night

Danielle, Joana, and I met Laura down at Sounthcenter for dinner. It has been way to long since we've gotten together with her so it was really nice to have a girls night to catch up!

Joana's Shower

A few weekends ago Danielle and I threw a baby shower for Joana at Alki. We were a little stressed about what the weather was going to be like since there is no shade, but it ended up being perfect for a pregnant lady and the food, cool and overcast! Just like Seattle, the week before it was in the 100's and then back down to the 70's. It was a nice break though. This was a couples shower. The weekend before her mom threw her a shower in Poulsbo with the ladies. That was a lot of fun and then the boys joined up with us for a BBQ after. She made out on all her showers and got me excited for all the cute little boy stuff out there! We actually found out about our little guy that morning and waited until after the shower to tell them. They were so excited that we were having a boy and Nathan was going to have a buddy to hang out with.

Danielle made these, I thought they were so cute!

Baby Boy!

We went in to scan the baby today to peek at the gender of our newest addition and are proud to announce we're having a BOY! We're so excited and Ashley's already saying baby brother. She was really cute during the ultrasound and kept pointing out the baby on the screen. I'll have my formal ultrasound in a few weeks, but he looks happy and healthy and that's what matters most!

Ashley Talk

"I did it" ~ she wants to do something by herself

"bunkah" ~ sunblock

"copcar" ~ any vehicle with sirens, or lights

"cycle" ~ motorcycle or bicycle

"boo" ~ her answer, when we ask her what color something is. She does get yellow once in a while

"soap" ~ lotion or soap

"wash" with the hand motion~ she wants to wash her hands

"come here"

"sit" ~ she loves to have you come sit next to her

"yep"

"cute" ~ Mama taught her this one

"booya" ~ Papa taught her this one

"vis way" ~ she loves to point us in the direction she wants to go and it's usually not where we need to be, but it's cute anyways.

"Bess you" Papa, Mama, or Body ~ most of the time she'll adress it when we sneeze

"stop it mama, papa, or Body" ~ This is a fun one that usually gets ignored because it's when we're doing something that needs done like getting dressed or changing her diaper. As for Brody, well, it's just big sister bossing him around.

"Mama, Papa, Body, are you?" ~ we've left the room and she's wondering where we've gone

"Body, come on" ~ with the on drawn out, She'll call for him when we're on a walk and he's busy sniffing the ground

"Hello" ~ This is what she calls the phone and Gama is always on the other end

"cabayons" ~ blueberries, yeah this one took awhile for us to figure out! It was between grapes and blueberries because she would point to both and say it. I think she got confused that the bunch of purple grapes looked like blueberries. She says gapes for grapes and blueberries are definately cabayons.

"Some, Some???" ~ She'll say this when she wants some of what you have, which is always. You can't eat around her without giving her some, (she'll turn her head or spit it out if she doesn't like it). If it's something she can't have we say it's mommy's or papa's and she's usually fine with that for a few minutes, but then she'll ask again later

"See, See?" ~ When you take a picture she wants to see the picture you just took, or look at herself in the mirror when she's dressed up or has sunnies on

"Ashee" ~ her name of course

"no, no mok" ~ telling us with her hand up that she doesn't want any more milk, I don't know where she got the hand signal, but you can't help but laugh when she says it.

"cabbage" ~ just figured this one out, it's garbage. I'm used to her saying trash, but this weekend she would hold up something and say cabbage and I had no idea what she was saying. Then it dawned on me that she wanted to throw what she had in the garbage, duh mom!

"carry you?" When she wants us to carry her, funny to think of her asking if she can carry us

She takes her shoes off all the time, but hates to walk bare foot. She's doing this less now that we make her walk when she's taken them off rather than putting them back on. She lifts her legs straight in the air when you put her down, but eventually with a lot of coaxing, she'll walk.

I'm sure I'll think of more and add them later, but his is a good start. It was funny to see the spell check, half the page was lit up.

Seattle Breaks Record

Seattle broke the record yesterday with temperatures recorded at 103 degrees at Sea Tac, the city's official reading area. The last record was set on July 16th, 1941 at 100 degrees. It is HOT and everyone is cranky, crabby, and has a glazed look over their face!!!!! Although, we were very fortunate to have a break from it last night when our neighbors invited us over to her Grandma's pool, oh it was heaven!!!... only temporarily though because when we got home it was 94 in our house and only got down to 85 throughout the night! Hopefully this ends soon because we are all miserable! Next summer we WILL have air conditioning. I've been putting it off for so long because usually it's only a few days, but each summer gets worse and I don't think I can survive another summer like this one!
