Easter 2013

Mom and Dad invited the group over for brunch Easter morning after 8:30 mass at their church.  They set up an Easter Egg hunt before we ate, so that was a lot of fun for the kids. Brian and I even got to find our own golden egg with our birthday gift inside :) The sun followed us from Vegas so we were able to spend a lot of time outside.  After naps the Easter Bunny left clues around the house to find Easter Baskets, so that was a lot of fun too.  It was a very relaxing day with family.

Vegas/Zion Birthday Trip

We took a birthday trip to Vegas this year with the Saliba's and had an absolute blast.  We flew in early Wed, so we had all day to walk the strip and check out the hotels.  It had been over 10 years since I had been there.  The temp was in the 80's, so we were soaking up the sun!   We stayed at New York, New York that night and grabbed a bite to eat at one of the pubs before heading out to the Cirque du Soleil show Mystere.  It was a great show! The next day we picked up the Saliba's at the airport and drove to Zion National Park.  My parents had been there and highly recommended it.  It was beautiful!  We took a couple of small hikes that night where D announced she was pregnant with baby #2 (she did amazing the whole trip)!  The next morning we took a 4 hour hike to Observation Point, which had spectacular views in and out of the Canyon. We ate lunch at a really cute cafe near the entrance to the park and drove back to Vegas after to check into the Monte Carlo.  We had dinner reservations at RM Seafood and went out dancing after.  It was great to feel young again (just what I wanted for my birthday!) Saturday morning we had breakfast at Mon Ami Gabi in the Paris Hotel.  The food was outstanding and since it was another gorgeous day, it was great to sit outside on the patio.  After a couple of hours at the restaurant we got into our suits and headed to the pool before packing up for our 1st class flight home!  This was the first time I had flown first class and it might be a little hard to go back!  The kids were waiting outside with Gram when we got home, it was so cute to see their excited faces when we drove up.  I missed them a ton, but appreciated the time we had away with friends.  Thanks Gram and Chris for taking such good care of them, it was great to hear how much fun they had too!

Teacher

Ashley loves teaching Isaiah and he loves learning from her.   Here she is patiently waiting while he finds the differences in the two pictures in her "Highlights" magazine.  I love, love, love these moments!!!!

St. Patrick's Day 2013

The kids got to build their leprechaun trap with Grammy and Grandpa this year, hoping they would be able to trap him over at their house.  Well, no such luck.  Part of the problem was Sammy ate some of the green marshmallows (which Ashley remembered the leprechaun liked from last year) ... silly dog will eat anything even with toothpicks sticking out!  It was a good trap, though!  I love the ladder they built so it was easier for him to get in and the napkin disguise over the "hole".   The leprechaun did drop off Lucky Charm cereal and green coins at our house, so the kids were really excited to get home and see that he didn't forget that!

Alli B. turns 3!

We headed up to Tacoma/Puyallup or Alli's 3rd birthday party. It's been a long time since we've seen his cousin and they've recently bought a house, so it was a good excuse to head up! We went up just for the day, spending the early afternoon at Point Defiance Park. It's somewhere I've been wanting to check out. It was a beautiful day and the view of Mt. Rainier from the beach was amazing. We had a picnic lunch, played on the beach and walked down to the marina where we could watch the ferry from a dock near by. We were so close to the boat, the kids got a little nervous, but it was pretty cool to see. If we had more time, we would have taken it across to Vashon Island, but we had a party to get to! We all had a great time and Alli was adorable opening all her gifts. On the way home we stopped for dinner and a quick visit to Cabella's. We were exhausted when we got home, but happy to sleep in our own beds. It's still a little hard for us all to be in 1 hotel room!

"Ooooh, I like what you're wearing"

Carpets Are Done!

The carpets are done, so I took the kids to the house to check it all out and I love it! So much better than the white carpets we used to have! After stopping by the house for a bit, we headed to see the bunnies at the trailer park. We saw three and two came right up to us looking for food. They're really cute and I'm sure lots of baby bunnies will be running around there soon! After seeing the bunnies we headed to the beach to play. It was a little chilly, but we were dressed for it. Then sun came out and it was gorgeous! We had fun digging and making castles before heading home.

Beach House Updates

Grammy and I went to the beach house to do a little updating. We have needed new carpets since we bought the house, but are just now got around to actually making it happen. I didn't want a lot of choices and wasn't too picky since it's a vacation rental. I just wanted something that looks decent and doesn't stain easily. There was basically one choice in stock that was close to what I was looking for, so I bought it! No decisions to be made, no regrets, that's the one they had, so that's the one I got! Buying the carpet was only one thing on the list that Grammy helped me with that weekend. We painted the bathroom Friday night, painted the master bedroom Saturday, and hung up curtains Sunday. We were busy, but we were a great team and a lot of fun in the process, as Grandpa says "it was a productive weekend"! The changes we made make such a difference, thanks Mom so much for the help! I couldn't have done it without you!

Valentine's Day Kisses

The kids got some fun goodies for Valentine's Day this year. The best part is they were sent in the mail! They LOVE getting mail! My mom sent these lip suckers, chocolate bears, a necklace for Ashley and a car for Isaiah. Steph sent the kids really cute cards with $5! This was the fist time they got to spend their own $$. After their dentist appt last week we went to the dollar store and they were set loose. I was really impressed with how well they did. They picked stuff up, found other stuff, put things down, but eventually settled on 5 things they wanted. Ashley got a really cool flamingo egg. We put it in water and checked on it each day as it cracked a little more and eventually hatched! Ashley had been telling her friends and teachers at school, so she brought it in today for toy sharing. I got a beautiful handmade frame that I keep at work. Brian took the kids to "Ceramic Cafe" to make it while I was at the beach with Grammy.

Another day in the Timm household

These two kids make me smile every day. They play so well together and love each other a ton. As their mother, I get to watch and admire! Just when I thought I could get rid of some of the "baby" stuff, he pulls this out and plays with it. Soon after Ashley was on the back with him scooting around the house. They could play with play-doh for an hour. I love her sense of fashion, all her own!
