Beach House

A couple weekends ago we went to our beach house to celebrate Grandpa Timm's birthday. We try to make a trip out to the house after winter to see if the gutters need to be cleaned and if anything else needs to be done. Just so happens the weekend we planned to go was Brian's Spring break and Steve's 55th birthday. I forgot this, but they had never been to the house before and we've had it for almost 3 years. They were due for a visit! We left Thursday night after work and got to Pacific City around 10:30pm, not too bad. In fact we thought Brian's parents were going to beat us there by about an hour. We gave them directions which are really difficult if you've never been there before. It's a gated community, so they needed to pick up the pass code and key from the property manager and find there way to the house in the dark. Well turns out they didn't need to do all that. We caught up to them on Hwy 6 and they followed us from there. Worked out perfect! Ashley slept the whole way, which is why I like to leave at night. Friday was gorgeous, we played outside in the sand and went into Lincoln City while the boys went golfing. Saturday was Steve's birthday. We took a long walk on the beach and pretty much just hung out and enjoyed each other's company. It was so nice to have a weekend to relax.

It was so cold and windy the day we decided to walk on the beach. Not for Ashley though, she was all bundled up and tucked away in the backpack, you can barely see her!

Brian and I walked down to the beach with a glass of wine and watched the sunset while Grandma and Grandpa watched Ashley. Last time we were here we climbed on top of the roof to watch it because Ashley 5 months old and already in bed. Much better view from the beach!

"Peek a Boo"

Just her style, she insisted on wearing her snow suit all weekend.

Ashley keeping and eye on Papa, "whatcha doin' out there?"

Ashley thought this was pretty cool that grandma got in the tent with her to play, evidently Brody felt left out and decided to join them

This was the entrance to Steve's room on his birthday. Not too pretty, but served its purpose. Brian and I had a good laugh picturing him getting up in the middle of the night running into this in the dark. In fact that's what he did, woke up at 3am tangled in this mess! Happy Birthday! Had to do something crazy for your big 55!

What a fun birthday weekend for Grandpa Steve. I'm sure there was no where he would rather be than at the beach with his son and darling family on his 55th birthday. Wish I could have been there to see his expression when he come out of the bedroom at 3am. What a great idea! I'm sure he agreed.lol

So glad we were able to spent the day on Sun on your way back home to Seattle.
