Days at the pool
Ashley found that she loved the pool, but it has to be warm enough for her to be happy. The first hotel we stayed at the water was really cold. I couldn't even get in, you can imagine how much she enjoyed it, but she hung in there and got used to it. The pool we went to with my parents was like bath water, much better than the cold water at the other place. She kicked her legs and splashed. Even learned how to jump into the water head first! Not our intention, but she hasn't gotten the jumping thing down.
This is the fabulous pool we had access to with the condo. It was beautiful, the water was warm and we had fun floaties to play with.
This was taken at the first hotel we were at and the water was so cold. I was so roud of Ashley for sticking with it because she was not happy when we first put her in.
She had such a good time with Grandpa this weekend. She called for him whenever he was out of her sight.

Taking this picture was about the most use she got out of those glasses. She does not like having them on for long, but likes to have her "gasses" on just like us.
After a day of swimming, this little girl was ready to have a snack and snuggle up.

Luckiest Mom in the World
I feel so blessed to be a mother, especially to this little munchkin. She brings so much laughter, pride, and silliness to my life, I love her to pieces! I love her hugs and kisses every morning and night, I love her giggles, her imagination, her silly faces and things she says. This Mother's Day was awesome. My little angel was such an angel all day. She behaved in church really well and after her nap we took a picnic dinner to Gas Works Park. Brian spoiled me all day cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner and I didn't have to lift a finger even to clean the dishes after. I am a spoiled Mama with an amazing family!

Tulip Festival
We took Becki and Grandma Timm up to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival in Mt. Vernon to celebrate Mother's Day when they were visiting a few weeks ago. It was supposed to rain, but we figured worse case scenario we could see the tulips from the car. Well, the day ended up being gorgeous. We went to Tulip Town and got out to walk around and take some pictures. Steph and Becki bought us some tulips to take home. I have to say I have never bought tulips more beautiful than what we got at the festival. They were huge in full bloom and lasted more than a week. I found out the key to them lasting so long is placing them in ice water after you cut the stems. After walking around the festival we went into La Conner for lunch. We ate at this great restaurant called Seeds. I think we'll go back there every year because the food was soooo good. Then we went to the produce stand on the way out of town and each got an ice cream cone. This place serves the biggest ice cream cones I've ever seen and the line was proof of how popular it was. It went fast, but there were probably about 30-40 people in front of us when we first got there! It was a great day.
Lindsay's Wedding
Steph and Becki came up for Lindsay's wedding a couple weekends ago. Lindsay is a close family friend of the Timm's. Becki and Brian grew up with Lindsay and her mom is Steph's best friend from high school. They put on a great party and a beautiful ceremony. My friend Sara came over to watch Ashley while we went to the reception. There is no way she would have lasted that long and it gave Mom and Dad a fun night out dancing. Memories of our wedding came back to us as we requested "Jump, Jive and Wail" to swing dance to. When Brian gets done with school we keep talking about having a date night where we go dancing because we have so much fun at it.

Aunt Becki and Grandma Come Visit
Grandma Timm and Aunt Becki came to visit for a family friends wedding. The wedding wasn't until Saturday, but they showed up early to get some good Ashley time in. Friday they watched her while Brian and I went to work. They had a lot of fun going out to lunch, walking on the beach at Alki and playing outside on her bike. She says Becki and Grandma very clearly now and they got a kick out of what a funny girl she is.
Grandma and Becki took her to Spud's on Alki and introduced Ashley to tartar sauce with french fries, she loved that!
Becki, Brian and Ashley hanging out at the mall
She was a happy girl with Grandma and Becki around.
Brian insists on stuffing Ashley in to this hat still. It's a Husky hat that my mom bought her when she was a baby.
I think she carried around this bottle of sunscreen around with her all weekend and I have no idea why she liked it so much. She saw sunscreen at the store and wanted to hold those too.
So serious
Kids National Geographic
My mom's co-worker got Ashley a subscription to kids National Geographic and Ashley loves it! The first week she got a blow up globe of the world that she kicks and throws around. That's what it's for to a toddler right!? We'll learn about Geography a little later, mom was never good at it so we'll leave that one up to Papa :) Since then we've gotten two magazines. She enjoys looking at the real pictures of the animals and knows a lot of them. Brian had taken her to Golden Gardens a couple weeks ago and he pointed out turtles. The magazine came that day and had a turtle on the front so that was pretty cool. Plus she's been learning how to brush her teeth (right now she just eats the toothpaste and wants to brush my teeth!) Anyways, on the back of the turtle magazine there was a bird brushing his teeth so I thought this is perfect, she's into birds now that she can see and hear them outside and what better than a picture of a bird to show her how to brush her teeth! Yeah, didn't work as well as I hoped, she's still struggling with the teeth brushing thing, but hopefully she'll get the hang of it soon.
Hum, I wonder what this is a picture of?

Daycare Pictures
We have been really happy with our daycare. Ashley's learning so much from her teachers and the other kids. I really think this is why her language skills have taken off in the last month. Today she grabbed her cheeks and said "Keeks" We didn't teach her that! They have a really cool way for parents to be involved with what's going on in the day and it's through a website where each kid has their own portfolio. They upload pictures of what the kids are doing during the day, announce birthdays and any other messages they need to get out to the parents. Here's a few pictures they've taken since she started last Sept.
3/2009 Here she is with Scarlet. They have a sensory tub they fill with water and bubbles and put different things inside for the kids to play with. One week they were learning about babies and got to give them a bath, feed them and cover them with blankets to sleep.
3/2009 Ashley liked to sit on the stairs when they went outside and one day all the other kids decided that was a good idea too! Left to Right Scarlet, Collin, Annika, Ashley, and Kaemon
2/2009 This was a fun toy, they got to watch the all roll down all the tunnels to the bottom, all the kids thought this was pretty cool. Her teacher LaKendra works at a kids store on the weekends and finds all sorts of new toys for the kids to play with. One day they turned out the lights and had a disco ball going. The kids thought that was so cool!
11/2009. Tired little girl, she's only done this once so I'm happy they got a picture! I never understood how a kid could be so tired to fall asleep while eating. I would think they would show signs of being tired well before but I think they just hit the wall and that's exactly what happened here!
11/2009, Going for a walk around the neighborhood. I think Ashley even got to go on the swings on this trip. We loved her teacher Robyn, she cared for Ashley like she was her own.
11/2009. Her teacher Robyn got a kick out of her this day. She was feeding another baby a bottle and Ashley stood on this cushion and looked out the window for about 15minutes.
11/2009
10/2009. She showed early signs of being a girlie girl, loves those bracelets (well, they were to her!)
9/2008 Ashley painting in her high chair, she was only in a diaper, I guess they knew she would make a mess!
9/2008 Ashley learning how to crawl. Her motivation? The toys the other kids were playing with
