Birthday Weekend

This past weekend was my birthday weekend, the actual day was on Sunday, but who only celebrates on one day!? My mom came up for the weekend, and bless her heart she made it after a few challenges on the way. Friday night she was going to come up after work. Rather than me waking up Ashley to pick up Brian at the airport Friday night, she was going to be here so I didn't have to do all that. Well, turns out she wasn't able to make it until Saturday. On her way up (around Woodland) her car started to make this awful noise and she thought the tire was going to fall off. She called a tow truck who brought her back to a Ford dealer near their house in Tualatin. In the meantime she went to my aunt and uncles house because they were going to lend their car to her so she could still come up here (It was really sweet of them. They new how badly she wanted to be up here and wanted to help out). So, as she's having a glass of wine at their house the Ford dealership calls and says the car is fixed and the charge was only $10!!!! Who repairs a car for $10??? Anyone my mom tells her sob story to :) Turns out there was a rock that got stuck between the roter and the brake. We were all so relieved that's all it was. My poor Dad was stuck in LA while having to deal with all this, thinking he did something wrong when he fixed the breaks a few weeks ago and now it was going to cost him $400-$500. So, with all drama aside Mom got up her safely Saturday afternoon. It was pouring buckets so we went to the Alderwood mall to walk around and have lunch. We found Ashley a new pair of shoes. Saturday night mom watched Ashley while we went out to dinner at Rialto in Fremont and then out to the Ballroom with friends. One of my best friend's birthdays is the day after mine, so we always try and celebrate together. Sunday we went to church and that afternoon I had a massage. Brian got me a beautiful bouquet of flowers and made a delicious dinner with brownie sundays for dessert. My mom got me a ceramic straightening iron, which I've wanted for a long time. It works great, thanks mom! The weekend wasn't enough time spent with Ashley, so she stayed on Monday and left when I got home. Next year is the big 30! One more year to enjoy my 20's!

The girls trying to fit into one of those photo booths that give you the old fashioned black and white strip of pictures. Let's just say those didn't turn out so well. I think 3 of us made it in the picture.

This is a little better, you can see all the girls pouring out of the photo booth
