Vancouver, BC

Last weekend we went to Vancouver BC while my parents watched Ashley. They have been so generous with watching her it makes us want to move closer so we can do this more often! I know they would love that! We planned this trip to celebrate Brian's 30th, which is April 9th. We had a lot of fun and missed hanging out with our friends. Things change when you have a child, but good friends always stay around. My parents came up on Friday, which made it nice that we could visit with them a little. Saturday morning Joana and Steve came over for breakfast. My mom wanted to congratulate them, Joana is due Sept 30th and having a little boy! Danielle and Hani headed up to Vancouver the night before to visit his cousin. The border wait was a little longer than expected, so we didn't get up to Vancouver until about 3:30pm, but we were still able to take the "water bus" over to Granville Island and walk around the public market there and grab a beer at the brewery. That night we went to dinner in Yaletown which is a great area of Vancouver. They have a ton of nice restaurants and bars. We didn't get gone with dinner until 10pm so by the time we hit the bars they were all packed! We didn't plan for this, but ended up finding a great wine bar where we were able to have some drinks. Vancouver sure has changed since I was up there last about 3 or 4 years ago. They have everything torn up for the Olympics next year, but the main street Granville has gone way down hill. Hopefully them hosting the Olympics will change all that.
