30 weeks!

Here she is! We've been trying to get good 3-D images of our princess, but she's always got her hand over her face and won't let us see her. It makes it another challenge that my placenta is on the front of my uterus and blocks good pictures, but today we were able to get a few to show you. We measured her last Monday and she's about 3 pounds already and growing perfectly. We've picked out a pediatrician and his name is Dr. Fillipo. His office is right next to my OB office which is about 5 minutes from our house. Our OB recommended him, so we set up an interview and spent about 45 minutes talking to him. It was nice to see that he was willing to answer all of our questions and didn't seem rushed. He's traveled all over and worked in 3rd world countries, so has an open mind about other methods of treatment. With both of us working in the medical field we are sensitive to the kind of medical treatment our child will receive and didn't want someone who was going to order a lot of antibiotics and imaging tests when a good physical exam was all she needed. We're both really excited about him. I start going in to see my OB every three weeks until 36 weeks and then every week after that. I can't believe how close it's becoming. We start parenting classes next week! It's a 7 week course and since I'm planning on going natural it focuses on birthing techniques for the first 4 weeks and then parenting stuff for the last 3. We've been in the process of getting things for the baby room for about a month now, but have not gotten it set up because we had a roommate. She has moved out and now it's time to start decorating! We have a crib, dresser, and the crib set is almost finished along with the curtains. I can't wait to see them! The mom's are bringing them up Sept 15th for the baby shower so it will be fun to put it all together. I've been feeling great lately, a few days have been rough and uncomfortable, but I feel very lucky with how the pregnancy has gone and how cool our summer has been. I can feel her every move and boy has she been active. Being pregnant has put a whole new perspective on my job too. I can now understand the joy and excitement my patients have when they come in for their OB exams. It's been fun sharing stories and comparing the pregnancies. I do have to tell you that wearing scrubs has been a blessing for pregnancy. They are so comfortable and adjustable with my growing belly. I always hate to change out of them at the end of the day. It's saved me a lot of money too!

Weekend in Portland

This is my girlfriend Jessica and I at her baby shower last weekend. We've been friends since grade school back in Illinois. We were in gymnastics together and best friends ever since. Her dad actually moved to Cottage Grove, OR and shortly after Jess and her husband Kevin decided to move out with their daughter Chloe who is now 6. Jess is due a month before me, Oct 6th and they still have chosen not to find out the gender. I don't know how she does it!
Saturday night Dan came over to my parents house for dinner. I hadn't seen him for a while and I think it was a little weird for him to see his sister so pregnant. He even got to see his neice moving around while we were sitting outside visiting. We had a great visit and caught up. He has a one bedroom apartment all to himself near Bull Mountain and is loving being on his own. He has an internet business and is currently working as a security guard at various locations.
What did Brian do on his bachelor weekend? Our neighbors had a block party and this is a picture of him with our neighbors little girl Kylee, he just adores her and evidently she adores the beer that he's holding. I think she almost got a hold of it at one point. Can you believe the size of the stein he has in his hand? We got them from Octoberfest in Munich 4 years ago

Annual Family Camping Trip

This past weekend was spent with both sides of the family for our annual camping trip. We try to find a campground that's centrally located, but this year mom and dad Lewis had to travel about 5 hours up to Cle Elum where we camped at Kachess Lake. I think they would say it was worth it though. Last year it rained on us, so we were sure that by picking a campground east of the mountains and in August we would have good weather. So, my parents hauled the boat up and we
prepared for a full weekend of skiing and hanging out on the beach. Well, it didn't quite happen that way. We got a few sun breaks, but mostly clouds and rain Saturday night and all morning Sunday. It was really fun packing up Sunday morning when all of our stuff was soaked! We still had a blast and are looking forward to it next year. The weather didn't stop Brian, my dad, and my cousin Lucas from skiing though. There's a picture of Brian skiing. He only learned to slalom last year and already he's
cutting in and out of the wake and throwing up good water. It's pretty fun to watch him. I didn't feel like I missed out on too much by not skiing since the weather wasn't so great. I'm ok waiting until next year, I probably wouldn't have been able to get up anyways with my big belly. There's a picture of Lucas and Brian setting up Brian's parents camper. Boy, was that nice to have! We didn't spend much time inside, but they had everything we needed for cooking and cleaning up stored inside, it was
great. Plus they had a propane stove attached to the side of the camper that got a lot of use this weekend. We were in a tent which works great for the two of us, but probably need to upgrade to a bigger one once our little one comes. We celebrated my Dad's Birthday Saturday night after a delicious steak dinner. The actual day is the 23rd, but we figured since we were all together it was a good time to celebrate it. It was pretty funny though when I came out with the cake and candles he didn't even
realize who it was for until we sang happy birthday to him. I guess Birthday's get forgotten the older you get. You're still young at heart Dad! Oh, the last video is Brody playing fetch in the water. He's still learning how to swim and panics when he gets to deep water. We get a kick out of watching him splashing around frantically trying to get back to shore with out going under. He still has a little more practicing to do!

Hood Canal

The weekend of the 11th our neighbors invited us up to their cabin in Hood Canal. We had so much fun. We left Seattle Friday after work and took the Kingston ferry across the Puget Sound and only about 15 minutes from the ferry dock was there cabin. We went down to the water at sunset and let the dogs run around and BBQ that night. They had been telling us that a bunch of baby racoons have been coming up their cabin in the morning looking for food and sure enough Satuday morning they were there. They were hungry and got into the dog food and anything else they could. When we came out to take pictures they climbed up the tree that's next to the house. They were so cute! We also got some baby practice with their 5 month old Kylee. I loved this picture of Brian and her. She's teething and was trying to put anything in her mouth that weekend including Brian's finger.

Camping Weekend

This weekend we went camping at Denny Creek with our very best friends Danielle, Hani, Joana, and Steve. The campground was great, only an hour from our house and really nice. Brian worked hard all last week to get his studying done for his test tomorrow and was able to go with us for the weekend. Good thing too because the boys made a deal that they all had to have mustaches for the weekend. The girls got a good laugh at our husbands with mustaches. They didn't fit any one of their personalities, but they made for some great pictures. We left Friday night after work and set up camp. Saturday we hiked to Franklin Falls which is a beautiful waterfall about 1 mile from our campsite. After the waterfall we went back to camp to eat lunch and play a little Badminton tournament. Later that day we attempted to hike 4 1/2 miles to a lake, but made it about 2 miles to another beautiful waterfall and decided we had enough and were ready for a good steak dinner. Following tradition that night we had s'mores and a game of "Chubby Bunny"afterward. Since no one seems to ever finish the bag of marshmallows we play a game where you stuff your cheeks one at a time and have to say chubby bunny after each one. The game is hilarious and I got to observe being the photographer. Everyone got the giggles and ended up spitting them out at 5 or 6, but our friend Steve beat everyone with 8 marshmallows. Brian was right behind him with 7. The weekend was too short, but we look forward to another trip next summer. 26 weeks!

Mariner's Game

Last Thursday night we went to a Mariner's game with 40+ people from Brian's class. We played the Oakland Athletics and lost 6-2, but still had a great time. We went with our roommate Jami who is staying with us for 6 weeks while taking classes for PA school this summer. She'll be taking classes at the Spokane site in the fall, but is only here for the 6 weeks course for the summer quarter. Brody also gained a roommate as Jami brought her Jack Russel Terrier, Barkley. They get along well, but get a talking to occasionally when they get a little rambunctious and scratch mom's hard wood floors. All in all it's been great having her here. (The picture of Brian and I includes the marching guy who sat behind us) We've seen him at the hockey games in the winter, his name is "Tuba Man". Everytime the team makes a point he marches up and down the aisle with that crazy hat. He yells stuff at the players and really made the game entertaining for us. I guess he decided that he should be included in our photo!)

25 weeks!

I can't believe how fast 25 weeks has come, one more week and it's 6 months! I had my glucose tolerance test Wednesday and I have to say it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, although my stomach was a little upset after. I had the fruit punch flavor and I drank it cold, warm would not be good at all! The doctor seems happy with how everything is progressing and still looking good for our Nov 6th due date. We were told that we need to start looking for a pediatrician. Yikes, there are so many choices. Our doctor recommended a few that I think we'll interview in the near future. This was a huge realization that we are going to be parents very soon! I've gained 18lbs so far, so I'm definitely not starving the little girl. I feel great though and I'm still able to do my yoga and weight lifting/cardio class with friends once a week. Some things have to be modified, but I keep up with them fairly well. Brody and I enjoy walking around the lake a few times a week too and Brian joins us when he's not too busy studying. It's a 4 mile walk door to door so we look forward to some good couch time when we get back! I'm really enjoying watching how active she is these days. I can now see her rolling in my belly and not just those random kicks. Brian gets a good laugh at her wondering what she's doing in there. The other morning I set my alarm and hit the snooze button for 10 minutes and of course I instantly fell back asleep. Brian had his arm around my stomach and could feel her kick like crazy. Later that morning he was asking me about it and I told him I didn't feel a thing, I guess I was tired! Sleeping has been going ok as I have now figured out the beauty of a mattress pad and body pillow. I'm getting up about once a night, but really not looking forward to more frequent trips as things progress. I am a girl who likes my sleep! We went to a Mariner's baseball game last night with a bunch of people from Brian's class and we're going camping with friends this weekend, so I'll post pictures of those events when I get a chance. Weekend with the Family

This past weekend was spent catching up with family. My grandparents were visiting from Arizona and decided they hadn't seen their favorite granddaughter in awhile, so decided to come up to Seattle to pay her a visit. My parents are always up for a visit to the Timm household so they came along, but it just so happened that Stephanie, Brian's mom, was also in Seattle for a high school reunion so we got the pleasure of having everyone up this weekend. Oh, and my cousin Lucas decided he didn't want to miss out on the fun so he came along too. Saturday Grandma, Mom and I walked around Greenlake. It's a lake near our house and it's 4 miles door to door. I was very proud of Grandma. She made it all the way around with only a few stops. The boys went golfing and good old Seattle weather, it rained. Yes it is July, but we have had the craziest weather here and it's caused it to be very humid. It is supposed to stop, but it's been a week and we want our sun back! Saturday night Grandma and Grandpa treated us to Indian food and Sunday after church we had everyone over to our house for brunch. It was great to see everyone, a little crammed in our townhouse, but good thing we all like each other!

This is the fabric that my mom and I picked out when we were in Portland a while ago. We had so much fun picking it out for our little princess. Stephanie is going to make the crib bedding and my mom is going to make the curtains, diaper stacker and an organizer to hang on the crib. The white floral fabric is going to be the crib skirt, the green polka dot is the bumper, all the fabric will be in the quilt that will either be on the bed or a wall hanging, and the pink polka dot and floral will be the diaper stacker, organizer, and curtains. I can't wait to see how it turns out.

23 weeks!

So, here are the belly shots. I've had a lot of requests for them. These were taken at a wedding we went to in Spokane this weekend.

23 weeks

20 Weeks!!

Here's our little munchkin at 20 weeks. Brian actually did my ultrasound last week but we've been so busy we haven't posted it. She was a little stubborn while scanning and wouldn't show us her face, so these were taken the next day. You can see a profile and a foot and in one image you can see that she's showing us she found her nose. Hopefully around 24-26 weeks we can get some good 3-D if she cooperates.
