Sittin' up like a big girl!

Visit from Michelle and Paul

Paul and Michelle are good friends that moved to Arizona almost a year ago. They came up for Michelle's brother's graduation, so Danielle and Hani had us all over for dinner on Sunday and it was great to catch up with them.
Ashley and I, Joana, Danielle, and Michelle
Now that it's a little warmer I've been very interested in putting dresses on her. Sunday was a little chilly, but those "Baby Legs" kept her warm!

B-E-A-utiful

Today was an absolutely gorgeous day in Seattle and we took advantage of it! Brian hung out with his uncle, so I took Ashley and Brody to the park this morning. We laid out a blanket and soaked up the sun. It was so nice so sit outside and be warm, it just didn't last very long because mom's allergies kicked up and Ashley needed a nap. After her nap we had an appointment for the TEDDY study (the diabetes study she's in) and that went really well. She got her blood drawn again and with the distraction of a toy horse (which also worked last time) and some singing she managed to not even shed a tear. She was such a good girl! They weighed her with her clothes on, but she's up to around 16lbs! She gets weighed the beginning of next month for her 6 month check up, so we'll see how the two compare. The appointment was right across the street from Seattle University, so I decided to show Ashley where mom went to college. They have changed so much since I was there, it was fun to walk around. There were a ton of college kids out on the lawn playing Frisbee and hanging out, it brought back a lot of memories.

Ashley's First Baseball Game

We went to the Mariner's Game yesterday with some neighbors. It was an adventure. I think it's good to get Ashley used to events like this, we just should have been better prepared. Saturday was about 85 degrees, so I guess I just thought Sunday would be warm as well. Who would have known that you could have such a drastic change in weather over night. I forgot a blanket for Ashley, luckily we had a Mariner's jacket that our neighbor let us borrow, but she had a short sleeve shirt underneath. Right when we got there, she had a major blow out, so I had to do a complete clothing change in the freezing cold bathroom. By the end of the game I ended up bundling her up in my jacket to keep both of us warm. I don't know what the temperature was, but it was cold and raining. They put the roof over the field half way through the game, but that didn't prevent them from losing to the Angels 2-10. Go Mariners!

She was so tired she fell asleep at the game. She would wake up a little when people cheered, but since we lost so bad it wasn't very often

Spring Break!

This last week we were at our beach house in Pacific City, OR. Brian was gone in Cle Elum the week before on Spring Break clinic, so it was so nice to spend the week as a family. We miss Papa! We left Seattle last Saturday and picked my mom up in Portland. My Dad was driving up from California on a business trip and was going to meet us there. Ashley did well on the trip, but she was definitely ready to get out of the car when we got there 6 1/2 hours later, we all were! My parents stayed the night and left on Sunday. We had lunch at Pelican Brewery, went for a walk on the beach, and celebrated our birthdays (Brian's birthday was on Wednesday) with hot fudge sundays! Yummy! The rest of the week was spent relaxing, doing some work on the house, going for walks, and lots of Ashley time. We also found that our hot tub works, so we're going to bring it up to Seattle after the summer season and get to enjoy it next winter! One of the nights Brian and I sat on top of our roof to watch the sunset because Ashley was in bed. It was beautiful, but that will probably be the first and last time I get up there. I was so scared being up that high, I'm finding I can't do heights very well anymore. I don't know what happened, but I guess it's good to teach Ashley not to do things like that. Anyways it was really nice to stay for a whole week because normally we only go down for a few days to get work done, so this was a great vacation. We love our house and it's nice to be able to use it!
We got lots of giggles out of Ashley this week
This is my favorite picture, I captured them talking to each other and I love how she's reaching out to touch his face, melts your heart doesn't it?
Ashley learned how to sit up on her own this week
She turned 5 months on the 5th
She helped papa finish his book
She played airplane with mom
She got dressed up like a little teddy bear

She visited Yaquina Light House near Depot Bay
We also found out she's been busy starting her own hotel! Never had a clue!
We took lots of walks on the beach, this one was a long one because it was about 75 degrees and no wind. We could have stayed out all day but mom got a little tired carrying her around, but the Ergo carrier makes it a lot easier on my back
Brody loved having his Dad around too! He got to play lots of fetch and run through the tall grass, his favorite!
He's a Springer, can you guess how they got that name. He is amazing in the grass, anywhere you throw the ball he'll find it within seconds. He got quite good at it by the end of the week.

I'm Bad, You Know It!

Spring!

Today was a gorgeous Spring Day, finally! We met up with some friends from PEPS and walked around the UW campus to see the Cherry Blossoms. They are beautiful! I had always heard about them, but hadn't seen them until today. After walking around campus I went into the ultrasound department to visit everyone I used to work with. Being there really made me miss working, but I still struggle with deciding to go back. I want to keep up my skills, but I'm enjoying being home with Ashley so much it makes it tough to start looking for part time work. I think I'll know when the time is right, but for now I'm so happy being home.

Close Ups

I just can't help myself, I love taking pictures of my little angel. We didn't have time to get close up pictures in her baptism outfit, so I dressed her up again and had another photo shoot.

Mom's Birthday Weekend

It was a busy one, but a lot of fun. I don't have any pictures of the weekend, just memories. Saturday was the big day, I turned 28! It started off by sleeping in! Brian woke up early to take care of Ashley and had Belgian waffles for me for breakfast. In the afternoon I went to my friend Laura's wedding shower down in Tacoma. I hadn't seen Laura in a long time, so it was great to catch up with her and see how the wedding planning was going. From the shower I went over to Danielle and Hani's for dinner. Danielle's birthday was Sunday, so we try and celebrate every year together. Brian and Hani cooked a delicious pistachio crusted halibut, potatoes, and a fancy side of asparagus. I'm not describing it very well, but it was gourmet and oh so yummy. After dinner we went home so I could feed Ashley and put her down at our neighbor's house. She had been with a sitter from 3-7 and I had about 20 minutes to fed her and get her set up at our neighbor's house so I could get ready to go out. I felt so bad since I hadn't seen her all day and I really missed her. It was good for her to have someone else watch her for a little while, though, and she did great. That night we went to the Pampas Room downtown for drinks and dessert. They had a Jazz quartet playing and we even got up to dance. It was great to get dressed up and go out with our friends... it's been a while. Sunday my PEPS group decided it was time to meet the Dads, so we all got together for brunch. We had so much fun meeting everyone and the Dads got a taste of what our meetings were like by going around introducing themselves and telling their favorite memory with their child and what they looked forward to doing with them in the future. So, we got to learn a little something about them too.

It's Snowing

It's almost April and it's snowing in Seattle. It's not the kind mixed with rain, but full on snow. It's been snowing the last couple of hours and the ground is covered! This is crazy, it's supposed to be Spring. It's snowed in early March before, but this may be the latest I've seen.
