This past weekend was a big one for Ashley. She had a lot of firsts. The biggest news is that she rolled over! It was Sunday morning and Brian was "teaching" her how to roll over. Then she did it all on her own three more times! She would straighten out her arms and over she would go. It was great because we both got to see it. Brian was supposed to be studying with the group that morning and said that he would have been so mad if he missed it. I actually don't think she would have done it without him "teaching" her, but she still did it. She also went to her first birthday party. Our neighbor Kylee turned one last Thursday, so they had a big party for her Sunday afternoon. It's so weird to think about how much time has passed. The day Trent and Rachelle brought Kylee home from the hospital was the same day we heard Ashley's heartbeat for the first time. I was only 6 weeks pregnant! Sunday night we went to the Thunderbird hockey game with Brian's uncle Ed. During the season he won a hockey puck toss and got a key for the chance to open the trunk of a car for $10,000. Each game during the season had a winner, but a handful of people didn't show up, so his odds were 1/28, pretty good! We were so nervous for him. By the time he got up there to put his key in the trunk the odds were down to about 1/19 because all the people before him had the wrong key. Well, he also had the wrong key and didn't win, but we still had a lot of fun at the game and I know it meant a lot to Ed that we were there.

Not a happy girl at the hockey game. Mom forgot the binky in the car and every time we scored she got scared and started crying. She didn't like the loud noise of the music and everyone cheering. She was also tired, so once she got set off she got really fussy and was not happy. So, I walked back to the car to get her binky in the pouring rain. It was worth it though, she was a happy girl the rest of the game. It's amazing how much she loves that thing. It will be interesting when one day it "breaks" and we have to throw it away. I saw a little boy about 5 or 6 in the grocery store the other day walking around with a binky in his mouth. It looked so ridiculous, she definitely won't be doing that.

As sad as this might be, I think it is getting close to retiring that darling jacket grammy bought for Ashley. And the hat, as well. Our little darling is gettin' to be a big girl right before our eyes.
Sorry Ed's key did not unlock the trunk. That would have been a kick!
